Manchester Storm v Coventry Blaze: 13th September 2025 - Chirps, Checks, and Chaos: One Game, All the Vibes

On Saturday night, we saw the return of Manchester Storm in the regular season against their opponents, Coventry Blaze. With a new intro video created by Motion Pro Studio during the off-season, and some fresh additions to the teams, including Saucerman for Blaze and Gilmour for Storm, the players were raring to go from the
start.
In the first period, Storm capitalised on an early 5-on-3 power play, with Cutler scoring a crucial goal that set the tone for the rest of the game and opened up our path to victory. Another 2 goals followed, giving Storm a 3-0 lead against the Blaze within the first 10 minutes of the game. The Blaze quickly came back with a shorthanded goal, timed at 10:58.
Starting the second period strong, Manchester scored yet another power play goal, bringing the score to 4-1. The energy of the game quickly shifted, with the Blaze clearly frustrated by the current score. Both teams began throwing their bodies around the ice, and a few heavy checks had the crowd fired up. Storm then found themselves in penalty trouble, which led to Blaze scoring 2 power-play goals.
The third period started strongly for both teams, with Storm leading 4-3. Coventry quickly put themselves back head-to-head with Storm when Barriga scored their 4th goal at 47:40. However, 2 more goals from Storm ensured we wrapped up the win and electrified the crowd. As the final buzzer sounded, chocolate bars and sweets
rained down from the stands for the players to enjoy following a well-deserved win.
This new Storm team showed what they’re capable of, and if they can keep this momentum for the rest of the season, the stands should be filled with energy all season.
