Historic Victory Supporting Manchester Storm Women in Their Debut Game

On Sunday, September 14th, Gardeot was proud to be present for a landmark moment in Manchester sport: the first ever game for the Manchester Storm Women’s hockey team.

The team marked the occasion in unforgettable fashion, securing a commanding 8-0 victory in their debut appearance. From the very first puck drop, the players demonstrated exceptional teamwork, determination, and skill, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting future.

The match also delivered the club’s first shutout, thanks to an outstanding performance from goaltender Teagan Lavery. Her composure and consistency throughout the game earned her the title of Most Valuable Player, an award proudly sponsored by Gardeot. We were delighted to see such a deserving athlete recognised - the entire team were outstanding from start to finish, as even though the score line seemed heavy, the team still spent large parts of the game defending.

Adding to the sense of occasion, we were honoured to be presented with a personalised Manchester Storm Women’s jersey. This gesture symbolises a shared commitment to supporting women’s hockey and celebrating its growth in Manchester.

At Gardeot, we believe in recognising dedication, resilience, and ambition, qualities the Storm Women displayed in abundance during their first outing. We look forward to following their journey, supporting the team, and celebrating many more milestones ahead.

Congratulations Storm!
